About Jormi M. Rivas
Petroleum Engineer graduated from Universidad Central de Venezuela, with over more than 20 years of experience as a Petrophysicist.I graduated as Petroleum Engineer at Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2003. My main experience is as Petrophysicist. I worked as Geomodeller and as Reservoir Engineer when I started my path. In 2013, I finished all the subjects for a two-year Postgraduate degree as a Specialist in Hydrocarbon Reservoir Integrated Management. As well as I am also studying a Specialization in Data Science with Coursera and Johns Hopkins University. I finished a Data Analyst Engineer program with Artefact and a Java Development professional course. I took a Business Creation course that helped me to master business development skills. I got a Diploma in Reservoir Petrophysical Characterization from NEXT group, which is part of Schlumberger, Texas A&M, Heriot-Watt University, and the University of Oklahoma. My experience includes work in Instituto Nuevas Profesiones as a Drilling Fluid Teacher, Spectrum Consultores as Petrophysicist and Reservoir Engineer, CVP as Sr. Petrophysicist, Weatherford as a Petrophysicist of Petroleum Consulting, Ypergas as Geomodeller, Independent Consultant for several projects and locations where I developed my skills for evaluating suitable zones for Capture Carbon Sequestration. Recently I have been working as a Business Analyst Domain Oil and Gas for HCL Tech. These valuable experiences have afforded me the opportunity to: Be an expert using geoscience packages such as Geolog, Petrel, Techlog, Geoframe, Prospect, IP, Petrowork, Prizm, and Python. Experience in petrophysicist, geomodelling, reservoir engineering, and business analyst Work with the latest industry tools such as NMR, Image log, and Capture Spectroscopy. Multimineral analysis. Experience in unconventional, carbonates & tight/fractured reservoirs, CCUS. Rock typing, saturation height modeling, uncertainty analysis. Coordinate and evaluate conventional and special core analysis (CCAL, SCAL) programs as part of development planning. Estimation of rock and fluid properties and petrophysical models. Water analysis, salinity, source, etc., and Core–Log integration data. Experience as Team Leader and mentoring more junior members. Petrophysical data processing. Database Diagnosis (Logs, Cores, and Reservoir data). Be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team. Understanding the oil and gas business from the management point of view.I speak Spanish as my native language and I am fluent in English and French.
