Interim Director Of ImplementationRaspberry Pi Foundation Aug 2018 - Feb 2019Cambridge, England, GbIn November 2018 the Department for Education awarded £79m to a consortium of organisations; Raspberry Pi Foundation, STEM Learning and British Computing Society to establish the National Centre for Computing Education with the remit to improve the teaching of computer science and Computing in schools in England. I was tasked with preparing the organisation for this sizable piece of work. Working closely with the Director of Digital Product and Chief Learning Officer, I was focussed specifically on:- Representing RPF at the highest level within the consortium and to the Department for Education- Financial management, developing working budgets and working with the Head of Finance to set up reporting processes.- Contract negotiations with the lead organisation and sub-contracting organisations (University of Cambridge and FutureLearn), supported by RPF legal counsel.- Recruitment design and supporting the process of placing interim and permanent roles- Platform development planning, mapping dependencies between organisations and developing a technology roadmap.- Working to build good relations between consortium leads, to support a harmonious working practice.During my time at RPF I was a member of the leadership team, and in Q4 2018 worked with the Managing Director to introduce of an OKR-style system for driving productivity, and enabling cross-functional teams to work more effectively and autonomously. -
