Trainee at the section of ecosystem based marine management. In my time at DTU Aqua I mainly worked on the pilot project for “The importance of mussel banks for the abundance and diversity of marine fishes”. For this field study I worked with stereo baited remote underwater video systems or stereo BRUVS (under water cameras), used to record and later analyse the fish diversity and abundance on mussel banks and on soft bottom habitats at different depths in Helnæs bay. Thus providing a general understanding of the added value of mussel bank habitat. The results may later be used for marine resource management decisions by filling a yet unexplored gap in knowledge. Additionally, it potentially provides a framework for local fisheries and the upcoming sport fishing centre to stress the importance of mussel bank conservation. For this field study I took part in the preparation (calibration of field equipment and collection of materials), execution (3 months of fieldwork and development of the method) and analysis (preparing SeaGIS software and analysis of the recordings).

Preparing, carrying out and drafting results on the ecological on and morphological development between groynes, as part of the nature compensation measures at Baalhoek and Knuitershoek.

Working on a wide range of projects concerning pumpstation terrain restouration, rural- and urban dredging and reed mowing (inventorying, preperation, planning and overseeing), water quality in and around sludge basins in nature reserve (monitoring chemical and physical parameters and flora development), fish migration obstacles (Exploring fish migration measure designs).
