I am one of the founders of Face In Motion, which aims to automate the rigging process within the animation production pipeline, as well as develop other solutions for the entertainment industry. We worked on several projects in the USA (Blur Studios), Portugal (Microsoft) and Spain (Dygra films).

Responsible in the Delivery Department for managing engineering teams and the design, development and delivery of award winning secure electoral solutions, which are used worldwide: Switzerland, France, Canada, USA, Spain, Australia, Norway, Iceland, Ecuador, Mexico, Austria, UAE, Denmark, India, Kenya, among others.Resource Management: overall coordination and management of the engineering team, including resource assignation to projects, vacation approval, career planing, performance reviews, salary proposals, coordination of the hiring process (and termination), on boarding of new hires, training plans and mentoring of engineers.Proposals: design of the technical solution according to customer requirements, decision on what modules can be externalized, definition of the budget, effort estimations - not only development, but also operations and support -, presentations to prospective customers.Project Delivery: worldwide delivery on time and on budget of projects, including operations during the electoral event and support, with travel when necessary. Managing of internal engineering teams, talent in house (consultants) or external partners (sub-contracting part or whole to development companies). Identify risks and escalate them.Standards and Knowledge Management: Define common development procedures, technologies, libraries and tools, along with others stakeholders in the company. Responsible for knowledge management, definition of architecture requirements and performance standards. Monitor implementation across projects, analyze metrics for trends and make recommendations for improvement. Member of the Intelectual Property internal group, especially focused on software license issues.

Incorporated at Tempos21 as external consultant. Developed server-side applications for mobile networks, using Java and MQS system.

Incorporated at Grupo AIA as external consultant. Integrated the development of Offer Management System for the company Gas Natural. This project used Java (Servlets and JSP’s), application servers BEA Weblogic and Tomcat, and Oracle database server as the basis of a web application responsible for managing the company’s distributed offer system, including external resellers.

• ORBIT (Object Re-configurable Broadcast Infrastructure Trial) [http://www.bbc.co.uk/orbit/]: European project developed by INESC Porto and BBC, to build a prototype of a distributed environment for a TV studio: - Implemented low-level network services; - Developed test and documentation framework; - Developed automated release management scripts; - Wrote documents: coding guidelines, documentation tutorials;• CONTESSA (Content Transformation Engine Supporting Universal Access): European project developed by INESC and several Partners, to build a system to gather, manage, exchange, adapt and publish multimedia content across distinct environments, requirements and client devices (mobile phones, browsers, PDA’s, Cable, Interactive TV): - Worked on several server and client modules; - Wrote network services; - Helped design part of the system to manage and exchange content, using MPEG-21 concepts.Worked on the development of a MXF SDK and accompanying MXF Editor.

Tested telephone network cards, studied some modifications and elaborated of reports on reliability.
