A JointVenture company (USA based Greif & India based Balmer Lawrie) in India (ca 75 M$), producing Tri-Sure Steel Closures and plastic drums/pails for the chemical, lubricants and food industry. As Independent Director, I visit India 4 times/year for Board & Audit Committee meetings and visit to the 6 factories. The position combines my operational/strategic experience in both product groups with my interest in this fascinating country.

Als CEO eindverantwoordelijk en in de periode 2003-2007 vorm gegeven (plan & uitvoering) aan een duidelijke strategie waarin de 2 eerder gefuseerde bedrijven duidelijker als één company gingen optreden, er een gewijzigde allocatie plaatsvond van sourcing en manufacturing. Focus op LEAN manufacturing en klant segmenten resulteerde in een duidelijk resultaatverbetering.

During 2 years, Worldwide responsible for the Industrial Closure (Tri-Sure) division of Greif Inc. Factories in USA, Europe, Latin America and India. Worldwide sales and service network.

Responsible for the industrial (Steel, plastics, fibre) drum activities in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. 6 factories and 3 sales organisations for customers in chemical, lubricants. food and all kind of other marketsegments with lots of international connections.

Operations responsible for factory in Köln/Germany. Production of steel & fibre drums and plastic blowmoulding.

Fresh graduated in TQM I had the opportunity to support Van Leer in TQM culture and our consultancy was also active outside Van Leer, often in combination with the MANS initiative for the introduction of quality by empowering the total organisation.
