I love education and project management!Since my first opportunity as a Teaching Assistant in graduate school, I have worked in education for most of my professional life. I started by teaching three years of Spanish and Social Sciences in Michigan and Wyoming, then 17 more back home in Puerto Rico. Serving in the classroom provided me with vast experience that allowed me to further my career.After helping Puerto Rico recover from Hurricane Irene as a home inspector under contract to FEMA, I finally returned to education. I made my first appearance as an online course instructor. I then realized how much more I could give to students and teachers by becoming an educational project coordinator and consultant.In 2013, I began coordinating and implementing transformation projects and professional development programs in local school districts, including a Save the Children funded program for childcare centers and Head Start teachers. At the same time, I have been working as a private educational consultant. This has allowed me to broaden my subject areas for training. I have offered workshops and coaching on World-Class Instructional Design & Assessment (WIDA) Standards, technology integration for instructors, reading comprehension, behavioral and social concerns, and data-driven decision-making.Since May 2020, I have been Program Coordinator (GEAR UP & TRiO-Educational Talent Search) at Thomas University's Pre-College Programs. Within these programs, we help middle and high school students from southwest Georiga enter and succeed at post-secondary institutions by removing academic, cultural, economic, and social barriers.Questions about education or project management?
