Responsible for the internationalization process of one of the largest and most recognized public universities in Brazil, with approximately 36,000 undergraduate and 15,000 graduate students, 3,200 professors and presence in 24 cities in the richest and most developed state in Brazil.Acting to develop and implement the internationalization strategy of the university through the development of different actions and programs, construction of international partnerships, implementation of resolutions and participation in international events to disseminate the institution.

Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering teaches subjects in the areas of electrical engineering and computer science (theory and laboratory) and works in the tutoring of research activities of undergraduate, Masters and Ph.D. students. Acts as head of the department of electrical engineering and head of the electrical engineering course, and chair of the college teaching committee. Prof Freire participated in more than 30 national and international conferences and was awarded four research projects externally funded.
