The WAN links consisted of various speeds from DS3 through OC-12’s. I was the chief network designer for HarvardNets Web hosting Center. I also designed a high speed, fully redundant, world class data center network. I was responsible for the success and profitability for HarvardNet’s web hosting center. I developed standard operating procedures for maintaining and daily operation of the data center. My major accomplishment at HarvardNet was the design of the Charlestown collocation data center space. The design was developed around a three-tier switching architecture consisting of a Core, Distribution and Access layer using multiple 6500 switches and GigabitEthernet Links to GSR routers. Routing Consisted of BGP and OSPF as the IGP. In addition, I was part of third level escalations for problems on the HarvardNet’s DSL, ATM/IP Backbone and Web Hosting Center.
