Through peer guidance and reflection, candidates impact each other, school communities, and larger systems with the goals of attaining higher student achievement, innovative cultures, and strong connections with the community. Sponsored by Hunter College, The Fellowship program aims for the principal fellows to develop self-knowledge of strengths and areas for development as school leaders through the creation of a personal professional development action plan and implement a transformative change initiative in their school communities that leads to improved outcomes.

The DLLF seeks to address the questions and issues of educational inequity, by bringing together education leaders and providing them with learning and networking opportunities to help them lead reform efforts in their local systems and around the country.

* The Cahn Fellows Program for Distinguished Principals at Teachers College, Columbia University is committed to recognizing outstanding principals and providing them with opportunities for professional, intellectual and personal growth. Our goal is to strengthen the public school system by investing in its most effective school leaders.

* The 25-Hour Teacher Training is a comprehensive course, physically intensive, and a fun three-day travel into the world of kids' yoga. The training, which is designed to enable the instruction of yoga to kids from ages 2 to 10, is filled with interactive concepts, laughter, music, dancing, and instructional "play," both on and off of the yoga mat, all designed to translate the practice of yoga into language children of any age and background understand and enjoy.

* Through a combination of face-to-face and online dialogue, school visits, conversations with prominent senior education leaders, and independent or partnered Fellow capstone projects, the program provided fellows with the perspectives and tools necessary for effective and expanded Deeper Learning leadership in the public-school sector.* The program provided leaders with high-level leadership development and opportunities to reflect and collaborate with their peers on the unique ways that they can strengthen and shape the future of the educational excellence and equity movement.* Participants learn from, support, and challenge each other as they enhance their own leadership skills and continue to strive toward providing high-quality Deeper Learning opportunities for every child in America, but most critically those who are presently underserved.* Capstone Project: Created a “Leadership and School Deeper Learning and Equity Self-Assessment Tool” with resources on the four domains; Access to Deeper Learning, Family and Community as Partners, Culture and Climate, and Systems, Policies, and Procedures.
