Managing the customer service reps consist of providing direction with questions during job order data entry, reviewing & approving purchase orders, and responding to customer correspondences as needed. Managing the cost estimator consist of reviewing & assigning new quote requests for estimate, providing guidance for method of fabrication, and providing final approval of estimate for quote. Other engineering managerial duties include working with Quality and Production to resolve corrective actions, hosting internal meetings for product design updates, participate in ISO and NADCAP audits, and communicate with customers as needed. Last, I provide hands-on information technology (IT) support to the entire company as we contract an outside service to provide remote IT support.

Previously employed as an Engineering Project Manager, I worked apart of a team that oversaw the transition of a customer's OEM production line to National Cycle's facility. Being tasked to lead the project, I developed a timeline tracker using Microsoft Projects so both groups, National Cycle and end user, could follow the project as certain milestones were achieved or phases were released. Developing the timeline consisted of understanding the customer's scope of work, understanding the priority to release said product, and working with internal stakeholders at National Cycle to review capacity to take on additional workload. Currently hosting virtual meetings via Go To Meeting, we meet twice a week to cover details of the project and discuss any issues that are arising during the transition. It is my responsibility to relay progress updates and/or issues to management via email or face to face meetings. I currently oversee three project engineers to help create 5-Axis machining programs, tooling fixtures, and production drawings for new products. I also oversee two engineering assistants that are responsible for entering the bill of materials into MRP and filing customer supplied blueprints into our database. As Engineering Department Coordinator, I performed various tasks such as project coordination and administrative services to ensure the day to day operation of the Engineering Department maintained productivity. A core function of my responsibility included supporting engineers to ensure internal & external customer deadlines were met with regards to product samples, production orders, and quotations. Previously employed as an Engineering Assistant and sole Cost Estimator for Mech-Tronics, I provided cost estimates for all new quotes and cost estimates for 50% of quotes for parts/assemblies with order history with the company. Performing an estimate for any given quote request consisted of reading customer blue prints, thoroughly understanding the scope of work needed, and providing a close approximation to the actual cost of a job in real time. This process involved accounting for the type & amount of material that will be used (e.g. aluminum, copper, stainless steel), the different types of processes that will be utilized to fabricate the components (e.g. CNC machining, punch turret, brake press, welding, photo etching, etc.), the type of finish prior to assembly (e.g. heat treat, metal finishing, primer, paint, part marking), and any type of hardware needed for installation (e.g. heli-coils, fasteners, gaskets, etc.). Complex jobs require reviewing with the engineering department and/or process owners (e.g. brake press operator, welder, etc.) to identify risk and potentially quoting with exceptions. Other engineering duties consist of creating CAD files of 2D flat patterns using Auto cad for the Chemical Photo Etching department, creating masking templates using Auto cad and a vinyl cutting plotter for paint operations, and creating 3D models using KeyCreator for quote aid and shop aid drawings.

Working as a Sales Estimator for MIL, I worked a part of a team providing technical, cost effective quotes for non-destructive testing, metal finishing, and organic coatings to major aerospace corporations and suppliers. Providing on average 20-30 quotes per day, it was my duty to respond and address RFQs by utilizing resources available (e.g. internal databases, consulting with process engineers & department leads) and applying estimating skills learned during training. Generating quotes consisted of reading customer blue prints/drawings, identifying drawing callouts, planning & pricing process requirements, securing paint sources, verifying chemistry & physical capabilities, cross checking approval status for the processes being quoted, and reading & having a thorough understanding of AMS & ASTM specifications. As Customer Center Rep, I assisted customers in shipping packages at a UPS Customer Center facility.
