My experience as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant in the Salt Lake City VA was a wonderful opportunity. Most of my time there was spent as the sole liaison between the VA Dental Program and another program called Care in the Community. Through intentional, thoughtful work I was able to create a Standard Procedure of Operations, which more efficiently coordinated dental care to our Veterans.

At Rise I had the amazing chance to work in a group home with seven severely intellectually disabled adults. It was such an eye-opening experience connecting with these people through helping them do things that I had taken for granted my whole life. In addition to helping care for the patients, I was also responsible for scheduling staff, and assisting with the hiring and disciplinary processes. It was an honor to work in this position.
