I have over forty years of experience in the healthcare field and currently serve as SVP, administration, reporting to the President and COO of Nicklaus Children's Hospital. This role includes responsibility for the execution of over $400M in construction and development projects for the health system, including a state-of-the-art 131,000 SF surgical tower. I led the development of the clinical institutes (Cardiac, Neurosciences, Orthopedics and Cancer), and I supported the hospital as Interim President during a transition. I previously served for five years as SVP and chief ethics and compliance officer, overseeing compliance, accreditation and regulatory, internal audit and bioethics as well as serving as the institutional official for research. During my tenure at Miami Children’s Health System, I functioned in multiple capacities including SVP over the architecture, design, construction and facilities engineering teams, associate general counsel, and VP, ambulatory cervices, where I was responsible for the development and execution of the institutional strategic plan for ambulatory services, including the establishment of multiple ambulatory/outpatient centers throughout South Florida. I also served as executive director for diagnostic services, as well as the international program. I started my career at then Miami Children’s Hospital and after receiving my nursing degree, provided patient care in various critical care units.I obtained my juris doctor from Florida International University and my Masters in Healthcare Administration from Barry University. I am a graduate from University of Miami and Miami-Dade College. Currently, I am a Masters of Disaster candidate at Florida International’s Academy for International Disaster Preparedness.
