She is also a composer and coach for dance and music-theater works and many composers have written for her and her ensembles. Before her move to Amsterdam she studied recorder with Gudula Rosa at the “Westfälischen Shcule für Musik Münster” and theater with Barbara Kemmler (director of Cactus Junges Theater).Kim-José Bode studied recorder at the Sweelinck Conservatoire of Amsterdam” (NL) under the tutelage of Paul Leenhouts. In 2012 she finished her Masters in Modern Music Theater (T.I.M.E ) at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague (Netherlands) under tutelage of music-theater director Paul Koek and dramaturge Paul Slangen.Kim-José Bode was awarded many prizes on National and International competitions as a soloist and as a member chamber music groups for early and contemporary music.As a soloist she performs contemporary, improvised and early music often with the use of live-electronics and/or theatrical elements and visual art. She participated in many different projects as a musician, actress, composer, coach and dancer.     Die gebürtige Münsteranerin Josephine Bode lebt und arbeitet in Amsterdam.

    Als Tochter eines Flamenco-Gitarristen wurde sie bereits in früher Kindheit von spanischer Musik beeinflusst. Sie studierte klassische Blockflöte in Amsterdam und fokussierte sich dabei auf die Verbindung von Alter Musik und Neuer Musik. Sie beschäftigte sich mit Live-Elektronik, Jazz und Freier Improvisation sowie mit Techniken aus der südindischen karnatischen Musik und deren Übersetzung in Zeitgenössische Musik. Nach einem Abschluss mit Auszeichnung schloss sie ein Studium des Modernen Musiktheaters in Den Haag an und untersuchte die Verbindung von Musik und Bewegung in interdisziplinären Kunstformen.
    Josephine Bode wirkte an zahlreichen Theater- und Tanzproduktionen im Bereich der zeitgenössischen auskomponierten und improvisierten Musik mit. Als Musikerin, Schauspielerin, Tänzerin, Regisseurin und Performancekünstlerin arbeitet sie heute mit Künstlern der europäischen Avantgarde zusammen und ist sowohl als Solistin sowie auch als Ensemble-Mitglied vielfach mit Preisen ausgezeichnet worden.

    Sie spielt verschiedene Blockflöten und zudem die bulgarische Kaval und das von AKAI in den 1980er Jahren entwickelte elektronisches Blasinstrument E.W.I. (Electronic Wind Instrument). Bei ihren Live-Auftritten setzt sie häufig Elektronik, Theater-Elemente oder Visual Art ein. Sie nutzt neue Technologien wie real time 3D Grafiken oder Laser-Technologie und arbeitet hierzu eng mit Software-Entwicklern und Licht-Designern zusammen.

    Zu ihren aktuellen Projekten gehört die Art-Rock-Band Jerboah, das Trio aXolot (Blockflöten-Konsort, Alte und Zeitgenössische Musik) und das Rutger Muller Ensemble (Avantgarde Ambient Techno mit Real Time Visuals).

    KAM is veel meer dan een aanbieder van programma’s. Ons doel is om inzichten en opvattingen over kamermuziek te integreren tot een nieuwe benadering. Dit doen we door topmusici uit binnen- en buitenland bij elkaar te brengen en samen een programma te laten ontwikkelen. In het Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ als laboratorium leggen ze internationale relaties. Ze inspireren en bevragen elkaar en kunnen hun performance daardoor naar een hoger plan tillen. Ook treden ze buiten de kaders van de discipline muziek.

    Dit leidt tot innovatieve programma’s en een bijzonder contact met het publiek. Liefhebbers van kamermuziek worden meegenomen op avontuur door de musici en krijgen een nieuwe kijk op het oeuvre en de boodschap van de muziek. Deze aanpak en de samenwerking tussen de bijzondere talenten maakt KAMconcerten tot de belangrijkste showcase van de kamermuziek van nu.
