The film and audiovisual its an industry based on the cooperation of talent. Narrative is created from script, to photography thru sound, even makeup, wardrobe and art direction, all talents that are involved in the complex process of film production. Everything must be geared to tell a story using all the means available. Hence being a producer its being a talent manager, helping productions reach their targets both in time and budget, without forgetting the purpose of it all: tell good stories. I learnt it from directors such as Mario Camus, Carlos Saura, Alex de lglesia, Luis Berlanga, Steven Soderbergh and working in films such as Harry Potter, the Batman series, South Park, Solas, Polaquito, La Flaqueza del Bolchevique and in more than 150 different productions. I have also managed highly demanding technical enterprises, having designed and help build three post-production studios one of which is today the leading facility for sound and film postproduction in Spain. This last included 2 major Dolby approved sound mixing stages, 3 minor mixing rooms, 6 editing rooms and 12 dubbing rooms, all fitted with state of the art technology and an innovative approach and newly designed workflows, that have become industry standards.In the film industry technology and creativity work together to create entertainment, as the products created by this companies (so called studios or production companies) are validated by the most demanding tribunal: the audience. Therefore technology plays a vital role not just in the creating and production process, but in distribution and reaching the audiences. I have learnt this during all my production career and specially on the two startups I have partnered.Managing projects in this industry is about managing people and the large number of professionals that are involved in any production. Stress and pressure are an everyday issue with tight deadlines, but then again, as its said the industry "there is nothing better for creativity than deadlines". My first job managing "people" was in a kibbutz in Israel, where I had the chance work with more than 4000 laying hens, which was a challenging experience indeed. Somehow that consolidated my passion for everything sound. Then came the UK, 5 years to get my career and then back in the Spanish Navy for national service. I guess I finished this story from the beguining, but I love looped stories that have suspense.
