I am an Electrical Engineer by education who has worked in the Electric Energy Field for the past 32 years with the last 28 permanently based in South East Asia. During my career I have lead a number of mayor strategic initiatives of ELIN and VATECH contributing substantially to the Export Success of the Austrian Industry for various thermal power plants, gas combined cycle power plants, hydro power plants and conventional and GIS substations in Asia, Australia and New Zealand during the last 3 decades.In the period 1998 – 2002 at the peak of the Asian Financial Crisis I was as Regional Chairmen responsible for all of VATECH activities including Metallurgy, Energy and Industrial Services operations from India to China as well as Australia and New Zealand. The main objective at that time was the consolidation of our Subsidiaries in the Region from 68 to 22 while substantially increasing the Order Intake and profitability.After the acquisition of the VATECH Group by Siemens AG in 2005 and the subsequent divestment of the Hydro Power activities to ANDRITZ AG, Austria in 2006, I am currently running ANDRITZ Hydro operation in Indonesia and lead the Market Development Team of ANDRITZ HYDRO for South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. As for ELIN and VATECH I am also strongly involved in the Global Management Team for ANDRITZ HYDRO GmbH and in 2008 have designed the ANDRITZ HYDRO Vision 2012 for SEA and Asia which is currently under implementation.The latest global strategic initiative lead by myself was the implementation of Low Cost High Skill Site Services for ANDRITZ HYDRO building on the global Site Service Experience of PT ANDRITZ HYDRO as well as ANDRITZ HYDRO’s venture into the OCEAN Energy field with the takeover of Hammerfest Storm a technology leader in the field of Tidal Current Generation.
