I am a graduate student in the college of business at the University of Illinois, and an aspiring medical student. Coming from a background in molecular biology I hope to utilize my masters degree to expand my understanding of the many intersections of thought that contribute to the development of new and exciting solutions in the realm of medicine and technology. I believe now, more than ever, leaders that have engaged in diverse fields of study and worked with individuals of different backgrounds will be essential to overcoming the challenges we face in modern society.To this end, I have taken advantage of the opportunities presented to me to engage in my college community as a welcome day leader and youth summer camp first aide provider. I acted as a leader to my peers as social chairman of my fraternity and as head bartender at my job. I expanded my perspective by traveling to Honduras with doctors and dentist to operate clinics in the mountain villages and working in emergency medicine as an EMT-B. I look forward to applying these experiences to my pursuit of higher education.In my free time I enjoy playing pick-up basketball, volunteering as an EMT at university events, reading books, particularly philosophy, and being outdoors.
