I started environmental studies to give purpose for my IT skills. I have chosen GIS and Remote Sensing, because its is rapidly developing discipline which gives new meaning to the world around us. Spatial statistics, vegetation modelling and field work instantly became my passion. I have used historical and recent aerial imagery and UAV imagery as well as high end satellite data to monitor and predict forest development in abandoned areas and national parks on a landscape scale and monitor invasive species.Apart from my research responsibilities, I also manage several websites. I also teach two GIS courses at Charles University.
