My role was to provide research, data, GIS and remote sensing support to ZSL's Asia Conservation Programme teams in Indonesia, Nepal, Mongolia, Russia, China and Thailand. Duties included: - Liaison with in-country teams and other departments at ZSL (Conservation Technology, Marine, Africa) to identify their GIS needs and work with them to achieve these- Developing a conservation geodatabase, creatively representing data using ArcGIS, QGIS and ArcGIS Online, plus leading the methodology and GIS analysis for the delineation of strategic conservation landscapes that will guide ZSL’s future conservation work- Analysing Landsat, Sentinel and SPOT imagery in ERDAS IMAGINE, producing land cover and NDVI maps, modelling top predator habitat suitability and investigating risks to humans and habitats from climate change, landslides, volcanoes and earthquakes- Key involvement in a multi-stakeholder DFID-funded climate change mitigation project in Sumatra, including leading the deployment of UAVs and associated sensors to map and monitor the project landscape.
