In this field, areas of current interest focus on biomarkers (mainly inflammation, immunity and infection), biosensors, Artificial Intelligence and Vascular Access, All this activity led to the development of the Clinical, Interventional and Computational Nephrology Research Group of the Institut of Research and Innovation Parc Tauli (CICN), www.tauli.cat/cicn.The CICN is a research and innovation group that brings together professionals from different fields who carry out their activities in the area of ​​renal diseases. Its activity includes several lines covering clinical nephrology, renal interventionism, and the development of computer and artificial intelligence systems. The aim covers on the one hand the study of the pathophysiology and biomarkers in inflammation, immunity and infection in the renal patient, as well as in the development of kidney diseases. On the other hand, it generates the framework for the development of healthcare processes, training programs, research and innovation in the field of vascular access for hemodialysis.Chair of the Work Group of Guidelines of Vascular Access of the Spanish Society of Nephrology (S.E.N.), member of the European Vascular Access Guidelines Group of the Europan Renal Association (ERA) and member of the Clinical Practice Guide on Chronic Renal Disease Group of the Spanish National Health System. Secretary of Work Group of Vascular Access of S.E.N., Council of the Work Group of Vascular Access of Catalan Society of Nephrology, Promoter of the Work Group of Interventional Nephrology of S.E.N., President of Spanish Multidisciplinary Group on Vascular Access (GEMAV) and Past-President of the Vascular Access Society (VAS).
