I am a senior at National Louis University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. At 18 years old, I began working in my family-owned restaurant on the south side of Chicago. Working in a small business taught me various skills and provided valuable experiences I want to implement in my future career. My family’s business has allowed me to develop communication and professionalism skills. It has also taught me the importance of work ethic in a business. I’ve gained other skills such as financial management, entrepreneurship, customer service, and collaboration. As a first-generation student and minority, I have the drive to seek new skills and opportunities for my personal growth and the company I work with in the future.
