Supervise and actively participate in all programming, including mealtimes, study sessions, transitions between classes, daily recreation, special programming, field trips, and campus visits. Promote group cohesion and community development through planning, organizing, and implementing evening and weekend residential life activities.Provide academic support and tutoring to students during daily study sessions. Monitor, evaluate, and document students' academic and social progress (participation, assignment completion, and general attitude); encourage and motivate students, promote good study habits, and help strengthen study skills.

During my time as an Intern coach I was able to experience all behind-the-scenes aspects of coaching and Track & Field. This role required time management, anticipation of needs, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. More importantly, it also required soft skills such as sensitivity, tact, discretion, vulnerability and exceptional interpersonal skills. Doing this internship showed me the passion I have towards helping others towards their goals. I also learned my strong desire to learn, and willingness to deeply contribute. I learned that to be in this profession you have a strong work ethic, able to willingness to take risks, and you have to have great communication skills. I gained a lot of experience of all the different training philosophies in all the areas of track and field. • Learned each coaching philosophy and program for each event.• Observed the process that coaches use in explaining to the athletes concerning the track or field event.• Possess keen eye for detailing and accuracy• Assisted in providing supervision of athletes at all times.• Assisted in the responsibility for care of equipment and facilities being used.• Observed the process that coaches use to build relationship with all athletes.• Performed duties for the team per the coach’s request.• Provide information to itinerary, bus schedules, and practice times to athletes.• Assisted with KU relays.• Helped with other responsibilities in the front office and internal operations.

During my time with Student-Athlete Support Services I was able to possess the ability to work independently with student-athletes. I was able be familiar with four year plan templates and progress towards degree reports. I helped to enroll and carry out the task of organizing 30 student-athlete academic files. I was answering phones, and assisting the Associate Athletics Director of Student Athlete Support Services. I also became knowledgeable of Filemaker.
