-My responsibilities included serving as a case manager for Renter's Repair Assistance Program (RRAP), a county sponsored program providing assistance for citizens in pursuing repairs to achieve livable conditions for families. -I also conducted in home visits to low income neighborhoods to assess living conditions, identify regulatory code violations, monitor repairs to completion, initiate lease terminations, and referral to legal services.-I counseled tenants at Volunteer Legal Services weekly evening clinics with Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid.-I served as mediator during housing crisis situations involving a tenant and a landlord.

Assisted in conducting a survey of over 700 apartment complexes in Central Texas which, in part, resulted in changes in city policy concerning low income housing.Updated The Guide to Affordable Housing by adding hundreds of new low-income properties and updating information regarding various government housing programs.

Managed individual unpaid wages, unlawful termination, and discrimination cases for individuals and groups of clients regarding the same employer.Interpreted and translated between clients and attorneys, government officials, executives, and other individuals.Assisted immigrant workers to initiate and file claims with the Texas Workforce Commission and educated workers on their rights as employees.

Tutored and read to 3rd graders in English and Spanish in one on one 30 minute sessions at least once a week.
