I guide companies of all sizes on a vast array of employee benefits and employment issues. I have extensive experience in defending companies from lawsuits and investigations and engaging with regulators or plaintiffs’ counsel to achieve swift resolutions.In the ever-changing complex laws (such as ERISA) relating to employee benefits, I consistently digest and transform this information for boards, C-suite executives, and other fiduciaries in a manner for them to understand and make informed prudent decisions. I have defended fiduciaries in litigation/investigations on issues involving defined contribution, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), defined benefit, and group health plans.In addition, my experience extends into resolving sensitive employment issues ranging from allegations of wrongful terminations, discrimination, and sexual harassment to implementing workplace policies, and drafting and negotiating employee contracts (including compensation, NDAs, restrictive covenants, and severance agreements). My focus is geared toward protecting the company’s reputation and human capital. Furthermore, as a former complex claims director at a major insurance carrier, I fully appreciate the triad relationship between the law firm, the client, and the insurance carrier, and I manage the relationships in litigations to produce optimal results for the trio involved. I have been monitoring counsel and coverage counsel on D&O, Fiduciary, and Employment Practices Liability matters. Lastly, I serve on a nonprofit board helping the underrepresented and vulnerable population.
