Drive the autonomous UAS operation and development for mapKITE, an EU Horizon 2020 project that uses a patented drone/car tandem for 3D corridor mapping and geo-information acquisition.• Researched, developed and delivered the basic technology for the autonomous operation of mapKITE's.• Developed a custom and proprietary version of PX4 autopilot firmware (C++) for the company with extended GPS-based follow-me features.• Programmed a linux application based on MAVSDK API in order to give commands to the drone and achieve the autonomous mission.• Performed Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL) and Software-In-The-Loop (SITL) simulations in order to validate the firmware on the actual flight controller before the test flight.
