Empowering young people is my passion. In youth work I found an outlet to mentor and guide those who needed it most. Erasmus+, the EU's program to support non-formal education and training, was my gateway into the Youth Work sector. I am one of the founding members of Dreaming OPEnly, a German organisation delivering international projects centred around using music and art to deliver transformative projects for young people across Europe. In 2021 I set up Rivelin Organic Crafts, offering tailormade woodwork and carpentry sessions for Home Educated children in the Sheffield area. This brought together my passion for working with young people, and my natural affinity for arts and creativity.[Experienced Youth Mentor with a demonstrated history of working in non-profit organisation management. Skilled in Project Writing, Funding Application Writing, Project Management, Youth Exchange Facilitation, Team Leadership, and Youth Mentoring. Strong community and social services professional with extensive volunteering record and personal interest in Health & Wellbeing. Qualified with a Bachelor of Arts - BA focused in Classical and Ancient Studies from Swansea University.]

InstructorFitkids Sheffield Sep 2021 - Mar 2022Sheffield, England, United KingdomIn 2021 I started working as a freelance instructor running Forest Skills after-school clubs in schools around Sheffield. The majority of my previous youth work experience had been with young adults, so to switch to primary school children was quite a learning curve to say the least, but a highly satisfying and fulfilling one. On a weekly basis we provide bushcraft and outdoor-living games, activities and crafts, and round things off with food around a fire.

Youth MentorMomentum World Jul 2018 - Feb 2021My association with Momentum World started with a chance encounter with Paul Oxborough, the Creative Director. I'd reached out to my local Parish Council for help in starting a community litter clean-up program. I was offered not only that, but through Paul the opportunity to engage with international youth empowerment through the Erasmus+ Program. I've spent the years since gradually becoming more experienced in this field on projects throughout Europe; team leadership, project managing, funding application writing and youth mentorship.

Freelance WriterS40 Magazine Mar 2018 - Oct 2018Chesterfield, England, United KingdomWorking as a freelance Content Writer for a local magazine, I interviewed numerous individuals and wrote short pieces on them, whether it be their new novel published or play being shown locally, or a significant community event in the calendar. Perhaps the most unusual story was that of a local man who spent six months running from coast to coast across the United States.
