Inspect, assess, enforce standards, and provide oversight of Combat Systems (C5I) maintenance related functions for all non-LCS ships homeported in Mayport, FL. Served as the senior military advisor in the Engineering Department responsible for the management and administration of military personnel and serve as the principal advisor to the Engineering Department management team on military matters. Act as the ship's single point of contact for external maintenance requirements/actions. Managed 87 enlisted and one Officer delivering all STG in-rate training in 32 A/C/F Schools providing tactical, technical, and military training in a safe and stimulating environment to forge skilled Anti-Submarine Warfare and Combat Direction and Control professionals able to operate in and maintain systems vital to their command combat teams. Initiated an extensive cross training program between Navy Instructors and Program Office contract personnel, delivering a seamless transition of course management for the Navy’s newest Sonar System.

Managed 4 Officers and 113 Enlisted personnel in the operation, sustainment, modernization and repair of all combat, fire control, CATCC, IFF, internal communication and navigation systems. Assisted PIA AIT coordinator responsible for the execution of 168 Ship Change Documents (SCD); including Smart Carrier and first carrier installation of Ship Self Defense System Open Architecture (SSDS/OA). Developed first comprehensive integrated combat system test plan culminating in successful CSQTT. Provide support and training to assigned Reserve units to augment the regular Navy in times of war, national emergency or as deemed necessary by Congress. Duties include: maintaining and track pay and IDT records for over 500 Selected Reservists. Developed whole center IT infrastructure upgrade plan which included “computerizing” all classrooms, developing an electronic media/education center, modernizing facility ADP equipment and developing budget request for the $250K project. Provide Funeral honors support.

Completed Navy Boot Camp, Sonar Technician Surface Class “A” school at FLEASWTRACENPAC in San Diego, California in September of 1991. Completed a pipeline of class “C” schools, Digital Electronics Training course, Sonar Maintenance course, Apprentice Level Acoustic Analysis course, Sonar AN/SQQ-89 (V) 1/3 Operator, and AN/UYQ-25A (V) 2 SIMAS course at FLEASWTRACENPAC in San Diego, California. In April 1993, reported to first ship, USS JOHN HANCOCK (DD 981), home ported in Mayport. Maintained Sonar equipment and all associated auxiliary equipment, filling positions as Work-center Supervisor and Sonar Supervisor on board until transfer.
