Responsible for maintenance, upgrades, and user training on a suite of UHV equipment, including two x-ray photoelectron spectrometers and a high-resolution electron energy loss spectrometer, located in the Molecular Materials Research Center.

Researching directed assembly methods for the preparation of vertical arrays out of randomly oriented microwire ensembles, primarily using magnetic fields. This research is a step on one possible route for bringing the fabrication of electronic devices, such as solar cells, out of the cleanroom and towards scalable production.
