JMBA+Architects, has been a fixture in historic preservation and renovations in the Greater New Bedford Area since 2005.Coastline Elderly Services turned to JMBA+ to create a new headquarters located in New Bedford. The project will renovated a long abandoned office building into a new 37,000 s.f. complex. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2019.We recently completed a preliminary design for the expansion of the New Bedford YMCA. The project is currently in the fundraising phase. This 20,000 s.f. addition will include new wellness centers, a produce market, and a rooftop athletic field. A new family pool is also planned .We continue our service to the Zeiterion Theater with a recently completed feasibility study to restore,renovate and expand this historic live performing arts center. The project will include new seating in the auditorium expanding the theater capacity and improving sight lines to the stage. An expanded lobby is also planned with new elevator and grand stair to the future ballroom on the second floor. Classroom space will be provided as well.The Commonwealth of Massachusetts turned to JMBA+ to assist in the restoration of several historic buildings throughout the state. In Boston we are restoring the historic Charles River Upper Lock Gatehouse. At Myles Standish State Park, we are in process of restoring the visitor's center built by the WPA in the early 1930s, this building will be fully restored and renovated. In the Blue Hills we are restoring the former MDC Hillside horse stable.HallKeen development has turned to JMBA+ to assist in the renovation of 146 housing units at 4 developments located in New Bedford, MA.
