I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering with Renewable Energy in 2009. I returned to the University of Edinburgh, School of Engineering to undertake my PhD in the “Advancement of Direct Drive Generators for Offshore Renewable Energy”. On completing my Doctorate, I continued my research in the field of Modular Power Generation. My specialties consist of design optimization, structural analysis, direct drive machine design, superconducting machine design, component testing and full-scale machine testing. I'm currently working within the Institute for Energy Systems as a Research Fellow investigation the application of my research into Renewable Energy, Off-Highway vehicle electrification and Marine Power sectors. We aim to improve energy availability, system reliability, life-time costs and LCOE for these sectors. Please reach out if you're interested in find out more about our research.
