Mechanical Design Engineer
CurrentMechanical Design Engineer developing custom electromechanical actuators for the Oil and Gas as well as Flight Simulation Industries.• Designs electromechanical actuators for subsurface safety valves installed in oil and gas wells• Performs detailed design analysis of critical components of the design, including static structural FEA simulations, fatigue life calculations, shock and vibration analysis and tolerance stack-ups• Produces technical documentation summarizing results of design analysis and showing compliance to internal and customer specifications• Presents technical reports to customers passing critical stage gates of the product development process• Reviews and approves component, assembly and installation drawing packages in compliance with ASME Y14.5M-1994• Collaborates with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing, and Testing to implement innovate and efficient solutions to manufacturing challenges• Writes detailed work instructions to provide comprehensive directions for initial prototype builds• Develops and executes test plans to validate designs and identify issues early in the process
