Chris sent out RFQ's to vendors, then worked with those vendors to find the best price with the best delivery schedule to get the material on site as quick as possible. This role also included tracking all orders until they arrived on site.Prior to working at Kiewit Chris worked as a transmission line engineer for Power Engineers Inc. (Power). While at Power Chris designed the placement of transmission line structures, the sag and tensioning of the wires, and designed the foundations for the structures.

A lot of the work that Chris does has very quick turn-around which leads to a wide variety of experience on many different projects, with the short nature of the tasks Chris gets exposed to Timber, Steel, Concrete, and Aluminum, and deals with codes in both the United States and Canada.Working for a construction company also lends the possibility of taking break from the number crunching to become exposed to different part of the design/construction process. Chris took the opportunity to work on site in Long Harbour Newfoundland as the lead purchasing agent for the piping group on the new Vale Nickel Processing Plant. -
