Joseph (Joe) is an Assurance Senior at EY's Detroit office, where he has worked full-time since August 2024. Prior to his time at EY, he worked at Deloitte & Touche LLP and achieved the position of Audit In-Charge. Joe graduated from the Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) program at Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business in spring 2021 with the GPA equivalent of Magna Cum Laude honors, and before that he also graduated from Western Michigan University with his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in spring 2020 with Cum Laude honors while majoring in Accountancy and minoring in Finance.As a full-time professional within the Audit practice at Deloitte, Joe applied his studies and gained experience by performing audit activities as a member of several audit teams for large and small companies representing industries including Power & Utilities, Industrial Products & Construction, Insurance, and Automotive. While an Audit intern at Deloitte during winter 2019, Joe took advantage of opportunities to network with full-time employees, learn about the Audit profession, and perform activities to assist numerous teams during a busy period of the business year. Before his experiences at Deloitte, Joe was a property tax intern at DTE Energy for the summers of 2017 and 2018 where he became a valued member of the team by performing activities such as investigating and achieving tax savings, interfacing with outside industry professionals, performing industry research, and more.During his college years, Joe was the Treasurer of the Epsilon Iota Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, where he was responsible for creating and managing a budget reaching up to $25,450, making financial decisions for the Chapter, collecting dues, representing the Chapter at national events and more, as well as being the Chapter Alumni Director previous to that. He also participated in activities through Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and the WMU Accounting Club, which he was the Treasurer of from January 2017 - December 2018. For this position, Joseph was responsible for managing a budget of $15,500, purchasing food and supplies for monthly meetings and promotional material, and representing the club at events for the University and Business College. Joe is an avid Detroit Lions fan, and in his free time he enjoys golfing, fishing & other outdoor activities, reading, cooking & trying new foods, automotive culture, and watching & playing a variety of sports.
