The OR/Surgical Technician will assist surgeons and other medical professionals in the operating rooms and similar environments. They will prepare patients, rooms and equipment for pending surgical procedures and assist during those procedures as part of a team of operating room professionals. Assists the Physician with documenting the patient encounter into the EMR, Also functions to perform various patient care tasks, and exhibit teamwork characteristics with Physicians and other staff. Responsible for completing clinical and administrative tasks.Daily Responsibilities include:- Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures- Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information on patients charts- Collects urine samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis- Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing- Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by Physician- Formulates and documents patient care plans, charts, tests and examination results in the medical record- Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, explains process and positions patients to capture images requested by Physician- Escalates non-routine issues to the Office Manager or Physician- Office Medical Records Custodian, responsible requesting and receiving all medical records for practice's patients; to include legal affidavits and subpoenas.- Responsible to prepare patients for outpatient procedures under conscious sedation by completing Pre-operative paperwork and initiating IVs. * Crossed trained to provide outpatient operative support as Physician's OR Tech; responsible for procedure room set-up and assisting physician in operating Fluoroscope.
