Joseph Eagleeye is a quantitative expert who has applied his skills across traditional and alternative asset classes. He is a principal of the Chicago commodity firm Premia Research. Premia’s algorithms are based around systematic, ruled-based strategies in commodity and financial futures markets. His career has centered around hedging, risk management, research and trading in commodities, but he has worked across all asset classes in similar capacities.Mr. Eagleeye's consulting work has involved both Wall Street and food producers. This has included assignments with Morgan Stanley where he was an investment risk consultant for the firm’s $2-trillion wealth management portfolio and with Merrill Lynch Investment Management.On the producer side he advised a large rice company on inventory strategies and started as a consultant for Organic Valley, one of the world’s largest organic consumer brands with approximately $1.3 billion in annual sales. Mr. Eagleeye eventually became Organic Valley’s Chief Financial Officer. His main contribution was introducing the firm to data driven solutions and value stream economics which fundamentally altered the perception of profitability and client value.Earlier in his career, Mr. Eagleeye was a senior derivatives strategist at Putnam Investments, where he researched, backtested and implemented systematic, relative-value derivative strategies, which spanned the global bond, fx and commodity markets, as well as co-managing Putnam’s institutional commodity program.He started his career developing programmed trading applications for Morgan Stanley's Equities Division.A widely published author, Mr. Eagleeye is currently an Editorial Board member of Commodity Insights Digest, a publication of Bayes Business School, City – University of London (UK). He was also an Editorial Advisory Board member of the Global Commodities Applied Research Digest, a publication of the JP Morgan Center for Commodities & Energy Management (2016–2022).Mr. Eagleeye is the co-editor of the best-selling Risk Book (London), Intelligent Commodity Investing and jointly developed the “Premia Research Bancor Index,” which is a smart commodity-oriented beta that is calculated and distributed by S&P Dow Jones Indices.
