Although I started my working career in the customer service industry with only a high school diploma nearly 24 years ago I am now fully immersed in industrial controls using one of the most renowned CAE solutions in the world. I had little opportunity for post secondary education which leaves me lacking framed paper to pronounce my education. But where my education lacks my thirst for knowledge and understanding compensates. Wherever I worked I excelled and have grown in the ways that count. I've have studied hard and learned from some exceptional individuals. Having received countless training and practical working opportunities in my 10 years with Xerox I realized I was capable of more. From working in teams, customer retention, troubleshooting, repair, inventory management, and sales, Xerox offered a massive educational playground. I am grateful for the thousands of hours of training & work experience.Soon after the 2008 down turn I decided I would apprentice as an electrician for job security. In 2012 I was taken on by L&B Electric Ltd. Shortly thereafter I was part of the ground floor establishment & growth of our custom controls panel shop. In 2014 EPLAN was chosen as the engineering platform and I was tasked with learning and implementing this solution.I quickly learned the basics of EPLAN & haven't stopped learning since. Converting customer concepts, drawings, & specification into detailed electrical drawings and a 3D digital twin fully wire routed is my focus. I'm responsible for maintaining the software, training, & expanding its utilization into each step of panel production. I oversaw the implementation of automating label production and now wire production with a prototype wiring machine I beta tested. All the while I managed to obtain my red seal construction electrician certification.I now solely focus on industrial electrical controls and improving our engineering, planning, documentation, and production of controls. Plus my eyes are set to industry 4.0. I develop new processes and methods for panel production and seek to implement useful industry standard practices to our advantage which are often underutilized in Canada. I've implemented EPLAN Smart Wiring into our panel production workflow and seek to expand its use in combination with the Steinhauer PWA wiring machine to reduce construction times. I take the time to communicate with co-workers and to our business partners in a professional way which ensures bugs are fixed and new feature enhancements added.
