During my life I’ve found that there is no greater joy than being able to help those around you, and that is what I wish to do. As a marketer, you are able to not only help the company that you work with, but those who are affected by the business too. Being able to help fix someone’s problem has always been rewarding to me, and my eager strives to gain knowledge and experience in marketing helps me achieve my goal. Being the son of a superintendent and a state worker you are blessed with seeing how someone’s hard work can really benefit others, even if you aren’t given the credit. I use to stay up with my mother and watch her write state grants for educational funding, and listen to my father as he was on the phone for hours trying to find ways to deal with the tiniest of issues, to state and federal problems. It amazed me to see how great teamwork, leadership, and sacrifice can help a community. I am a Marketing Major and a Communication Minor at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. During my time at UMD I was able to gain many great life experiences that have helped me evolve to become a better person. My time being a captain of the Men’s Cross Country has taught me how to be patient and how to approach different styles of teaching to others. I have been fortunate to even spend a summer with Enbridge in 2015 as a depth-of-survey pipe worker and was granted to opportunity to see how communication within all branches of business is important. During my college career I was fortunate enough be part of some great teams and have learned many valuable life lessons. The time I spent working at volunteer events has shown me that there is more to life that just money, and that life has greater rewards in store. -“Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.
