Assist the Director of the unit in overall planning, coordination and implementation of activities and programs designed for the student constituency. Responsible in providing a full range of admission services and arranging recruitment/yielding events for prospective students. Responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing departmental summer immersion program/retreats for incoming freshmen students at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Design, project manage and launch the UIC Black Tech Scholars Program, co-curricular program that ensures professional and web development opportunities for underrepresented population of students in order to foster interest and representation in the tech sector. Program scholars have obtained paid internships/full time employment in tech sector through their participation in the program. Established corporate sponsorship with software design/consulting firm on behalf of mentioned program. Created and implemented a pilot collegiate preparatory program (Talented 25 Program) that served a cohort of 25 African American male high school students from Chicago Metropolitan Area. At the conclusion of the program, all participants graduated from their respective high schools and admitted to four-year institutions. Serve as a liaison to internal units and external organizations to establish partnerships with the department. Established partnership with 100 Black Men of Chicago to solidify classroom space and prospective applicants for their “Pathways to Success Program”, which provides opportunities for high school and college students to learn workforce readiness skills and receive an introduction to corporate careers and entrepreneurship. Co-chairs specialized committee composed of academic professionals, faculty, and community leaders devoted to the goal of increasing enrollment, retention and graduation rates of African American students at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
