Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), master’s degree in social work from the Grace Abbott School of Social Work at the University of Nebraska Omaha. I have a range of professional experience focused on both individuals and larger community structures. This includes work with individuals struggling with mental health and substance use disorders, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. I have also worked on community initiatives to improve access to mental health care in the Omaha Metro area and provided support to local organizations seeking to better serve individuals who come to them for help.I approach therapy from a trauma-informed and strengths-based perspective, focused on empowering individuals to lead their recovery. I believe that trust and safety are key to the success of any therapeutic approach, and work to create that atmosphere with individuals from all cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I use a combination of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, harm-reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness techniques; and am trained on the Addiction Severity Index and the ASAM levels of care for substance use disorders.
