Directly responsible for providing initial entry training to Armor Officers and preparing them for platoon leader assignments; provides maintance, weapons, tactics and leadership instruction to 200 Armor Lieutantants annually; evaulates 2,472 hours of tactical field training and 1,500 hours of small group training annually; responsible for providing formal and informal feedback and mentorship; primary safety officer for all training to include development of risk assessments and risk mitigation; supervises maintance and accountability for over $5 million dollars of equipment.

Performs duties as tank commander. Directs deployment of personnel and tank in combat operations and training exercises. Directs fire of tank weapons. Supervises training of tank crew. Conducts battle drills. Request, observes and adjust supporting fire. Responds to direction from the platoon leader. Coordinates action of tank with platoon and supporting elements. Plans movement routes. Supervises crew operator maintance. Coordinates requirements for unit maintance. Supervises camouflage of equiment. Evaluates work performance of subordinate crewmembers. Coordinates the evacuation ofcasualties. Ensures collection and proper reporting of intelligence data to unit and responsible sections.
