Joseph Grimaldi played ice hockey for Team USA during 2002-2004 seasons, in Ann Arbor Michigan for the National Team Development Program(NTDP).During this time Grimaldi received a IIHF silver medal at the world championships in Minsk, Belarus in 2004. Earlier that year, Team USA captured a gold medal at the 4 nations cup. Grimaldi was ranked among the top top players in the world from 2002-2004. After returning from the World Championships, Grimaldi received a full ice hockey scholarship to attend the University of Nebraska Omaha. Grimaldi lead all of college hockey with a plus/minus rating of +24 (2004) earning all-rookie team. Shortly after, attending the University of Nebraska, Grimaldi entered the New York Islanders organization which started his professional career. Joseph Grimaldi played professional ice hockey for 10 years before retiring in 2015.Grimaldi took a small break from the game in 2012 and decided to get into coaching. He was hired as Head Coach and General Manager for the Southern Oregon Spartans (Junior A) in the Western States Hockey League. After coaching one season, Grimaldi returned back to professional hockey for the final 2 years of his career. The last few seasons of his professional ice hockey career were spent overseas in 3 top European leagues. Grimaldi decided to retire from hockey because an opportunity opened up with Porsche, the world renown German car company in the auto industry. Grimaldi worked with the brand for a little over 3 years. The Brand Porsche has always been passion of his since he was younger.Although moving on from hockey, Grimaldi still stayed connected with the game to an extent. Joseph was an amateur Scout in the Midwest for the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League for two seasons following his retirement.Grimaldi is currently working with medical device space with companies like Stryker, Paragon 28, Smith + Nephew, and Mimedx.
