In May of 2000, I graduated with an AAS in Gunsmithing Technology from Murray State College, Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Among the skills I acquired are repairing existing firearms and building custom rifles and handguns. After a few years servicing small arms and crew serve weapons as a civilian contractor with 7th Special Forces Group, I decided to continue my college education and returned to Texas to attend the University of North Texas (UNT). I worked almost full time while attending college, and In May 2008 I graduated from UNT with a BBA in Entrepreneurship. While many people associate Entrepreneurship with small business ownership, the degree plan had a heavy emphasis on team work. While at RSR Group, I initially worked remotely with the New York sales team and later latterly transferred to the Texas sales team. In both offices my account book saw rapid growth that can be partially attributed to market conditions. However, I believe my persistence in contacting customers and following up on their needs contributed to a surge in sales and my overall success with RSR! Eleven plus years of sales experience between the New York office and the Texas office has allowed me to experience a variety of personalities, hone my ability to understand what the customer is asking for, and find solutions to fit their particular needs. I believe my experience in sales (and my overall interest in sporting goods and firearms) has prepared me to embark on the path of a purchasing agent. Much like in sales, a buyer must be able to siphon through a sales pitch and ascertain if there is a need for a product (or program) that will be beneficial to the company. One of my duties at RSR group is to coordinate between the customer and the buyer on special order items while determining a sales price and availability.
