Joseph Itaya is a professor of communication and entrepreneurship, brand/media specialist, award-winning feature film director, technology innovator, and musician. Joseph specializes in the fusion of storytelling and business, synthesizing brand identity and strategy into compelling multi-media content.Dubbed the "Professor of Purpose" by his students, Joseph serves as Program Director and Professor for the MS in Digital Media Management Program at the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. For 20+ years, Joseph has produced/directed multi-tiered digital campaigns for global brands such as Sony, CBS, NBCUniversal, Fox, Walmart, Mattel, Coca-Cola, to name a few. Joseph founded Legacy Films in 2007, producing documentary films for notable clients in the fields of politics, real estate, finance, sports, and entrepreneurship. Legacy Films’ charitable arm has helped raise millions of dollars for organizations that include CHLA, The Annenberg Foundation, UNHCR, V Foundation, Teen Cancer America, World of Children, and many others. An award-winning feature film writer/director/producer, Joseph's films have been distributed to theatrical and television audiences around the world. His latest film "Lost & Found", starring Jason Patric and Cary Elwes, was distributed by Sony, AMC, and Voltage International. A pioneer of the live-action of 360VR industry, Joseph is the founder of EVRLAND, bringing travel/wellness/education VR experiences to sick and disadvantaged children. He has filmed VR experiences across the globe, deploying them to children’s hospitals and educational partners across the country. In 2000, Joseph founded MUSE ACADEMY to teach music, media production and entrepreneurship. Joseph manages a diverse and exceptional team to develop cutting edge, innovative curriculums. Muse Academy students have matriculated to exceptional universities including USC, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, NYU, Columbia, Duke, and many others.Joseph is a lifelong musician and former concert pianist, specializing in piano, vocals, songwriting, and producing. He holds a BA in composition/piano from the University of Washington and an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California.
