JD Decker is the chief of Nevada DMV's police division and a decorated peace officer. Decker was dubbed "The Fixer" at the state legislature in 2015, having led the reorganization of 4 other state agencies before being appointed to DMV in 2018.  Decker serves as a board member of the Nevada Taxicab Authority, the Automotive Affairs Advisory Board, and the Advisory Committee on the Control of Emissions. He also serves on various vehicle theft committees.During his tenure in state service, Decker has drafted language for numerous bills that have become Nevada law and testified extensively in front of the Nevada Legislature. Decker presents regularly on identity documents fraud, vehicle theft, law enforcement operations and investigative case studies. He is published in leadership and organizational management, and featured regularly on local television news in Las Vegas for division patrol and fraud operations.Prior to government service, Decker spent 20 years in corporate security and investigations, leaving Bank of America as a senior vice-president. Decker was also an officer in the Army Special Forces, qualified in airborne, air assault and mountain warfare operations.
