Conducted Impact Evaluations for Tribal entities that received Federal grant money to 1) protect endangered languages, 2) provide environment protection practices, or 3) provide for cultural development.

Independent consultant/contractor

Designed a five-year evaluation and analysis plan for the Community Networks Program, including drafting position papers and evaluation plans for OJJDP’s Tribal Youth Program on the topic of native risk and protective factors, as well as responding to NIJ solicitation to evaluate operations of Mayor of Houston’s Anti-Gang Office.

Served as chief social/behavioral science and assessment research manager. Conducted product satisfaction surveys of Talisman medical self-interview software products with both prospective blood donors and blood collection center staff. Analyzed data from the blood industry and medical assessment systems. Currently developing an automated self- interview to collect sexual histories from STD clinic patients.

Developed evaluation plans and managed data for several Department of Education initiatives, including Math and Science Partnerships (MSP) and Voluntary Public School Choice (VPSC). Also served as the main analyst and site coordinator for the Department of Justice Gangs-Free Schools initiative.

Managed several CDC-sponsored projects relating to the epidemiology of a number of cancer types. This included preparation and oral presentation of project plans and IRB materials. Also, the coordination of multiple participating hospitals had to be carefully directed.

Worked as a site coordinator for CSAP’s Minority HIV/Substance Abuse Prevention Initiative. This included the evaluation of multi-year cross-site intervention programs aimed at HIV and SA prevention. Over 80 program sites across the US are participating, and a sub-group will be selected for cross-site analysis. Conducted multi-site evaluations for the Data Coordinating Center for COSAPs (Children of Substance Abusing Parents). Coordinated study sites for Project: Youth Connect, a multi-year, multi-site project whose purpose is to work with community-based organizations to develop mentoring/advocacy programs aimed at building resilience against substance use in high-risk youth and their families and facilitate the participation of programs in a national cross-site evaluation.

Analyzed large truck crash data obtained from studies utilizing driving-simulators and crash-likely scenarios. Worked with Department of Transportation in analyzing data from several crash- and fatality-related databases, and statistically developed predictive risk models.
