At IBM I've worked on IBM Watson Analytics, IBM SPSS Analytic Server and IBM SPSS Data Collection solutions. While on these teams I've served a variety of roles, ranging from team member to scrum master, technical lead and/or architect. Most recently serving on the IBM Watson Analytics team, I've had a variety of different responsibilities. I helped to design its deployment architecture within the Soft Layer Cloud, as well as helping to design and implement its continuous delivery pipeline. I've led the product's performance team, focusing on identifying and eliminating performance and scalability bottlenecks. While on IBM SPSS Analytic Server, I helped to bring IBM SPSS's statistical and data mining capabilities provided by their Statistics and Modeler products to big data by taking advantage of Hadoop and its Map/Reduce capabilities. As the technical lead and architect for IBM SPSS Data Collection, I designed and helped implement enhancements to a mature suite of survey products developed for the market research industry.

At SPSS I began my tenure working on a Swing based desktop application that was used to manually refine computer generated decision list data models. Later, I moved to a team working on a suite of applications written in COM C++ and .NET where I eventually became team lead and architect.

I participated in every phase of the software development life cycle, starting with collection of requirements from the customer, and continuing thru supporting the application running in production.
