CurrentAs the Chairman of the Firm’s National Firearms Practice Group, Mr. Kavan represents domestic and international firearms manufacturers, ammunition manufacturers, firearms dealers, firearms importers and exporters as well as banks and other financial entities providing financing to the firearms industry. Mr. Kavan provides clients in the rireamrs industry with iIn depth knowledge and experience of export/import compliance procedures, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Federal Trade Regulations (FTR), Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) and Schedule B, Customs Regulations, Automated Export System (AES), and Export Control Reform.In addition, Mr. Kavan represents entities in all areas of corporate and partnership structuring, financing and equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions and tax issues. He represents private and public companies, investment banks and financial institutions in corporate, finance, licensure, regulatory and taxation matters, including mergers and acquisitions, debt financings, participation and syndications, real estate syndications and corporate debt and equity finance nationwide. His practice involves providing representation and advice concerning all aspects of corporate and real estate finance, corporate structuring and project finance and development. In addition to rending advice to the firearms industry, his Mr. practice also involves rendering advice to developers, investors, bankers and sponsors involved in energy facilities, telecommunications, real estate, agriculture and financial institutions.
