1 Source Medicine is a small firm dedicated to guiding future physicians through the notoriously treacherous waters of medical education. Born of frustration with the perpetual, frantic scramble to identify and obtain the "best" resource for each of the countless topics in the med school curriculum, the defining aim of 1 Source Medicine is simple: We want to establish a hub where students from across the field's steep dominance hierarchy can find with ease and employ with confidence the strategies, advice, and resources best suited for optimally addressing the challenge(s) they find most imminent.

Compilation, analysis & visualization of data to identify the projects & strategies in which resources allocated can maximize ROI, not only relative to the bottom line but in terms of customer & employ satisfaction as well. Recently (fall 2020) construction & preliminary implementation of my own elementary neural networks demonstrated dramatically enhanced capabilities for pattern recognition and hypervariable forecasting which promise to completely revolutionize the landscape for small business operations.

Instructor for MCAT, DAT, and OAT prep courses. Requires significant breadth & depth of basic science understanding, including physics, chemistry, molecular biosciences, physiology, psychology, and sociology, among other more specific topics. That said, the most vital competencies are those which directly facilitate efficient transfer of the aforementioned information to a diverse population of students, both in terms of educational backgrounds and preferred learning methodologies.

I worked in the neuropathology lab of Professor Chunyu Cai, where we investigated molecular mechanisms responsible for radiation-resistance in atypical meningioma. My specific role in Dr. Cai’s lab ranged from creating microscope slides, to calibrating and optimizing slide-analyzing software to work within a set of pre-determined parameters, to statistically analyzing data, to presenting our work in expert forums at local and national levels.In June 2016 I was honored to receive the Trainee Travel Award for my platform presentation reviewing our work at the Annual Conference for the American Association of Neuropathology (AANP).

Between my first and second years of medical school, I worked in the lab of world-renowned neurologist, Professor Roger Rosenberg. During this time, Professor Rosenberg's team was in early stages of animal testing for a DNA vaccine against Alzheimer's Disease. My role here was primarily technical (i.e. running western blots, ELISA tests, collecting data, etc.). Nevertheless, I gained invaluable understanding and appreciation of the philosophy underlying scientific discovery at the cutting edge of what is known.

Assisted the teaching of a notoriously challenging honors section of biochemistry II at the University of Kansas. teaching assistant for the honors section of a biochemistry II course at the University of Kansas during my senior year. Duties consisted of instructing small group sections, holding private office hours to help students with specific questions, and grading exams and homework.

I worked in the physiology lab of Professor James Orr throughout my four year undergraduate education at KU. The experience culminated with my senior honors thesis, which investigated roles of various calcium channels in establishing and maintaining the prolonged vascular contraction elicited by thromboxane A2 mimetic, U-46619.Dr. Orr constantly challenged me to push a little bit beyond my comfort zone, which ultimately led to my ability to conduct my own literature reviews, generate hypotheses, and design experiments, all before finishing a 4 year undergrad degree.

This is a summer camp for at-risk and under-privileged children in the northeast Oklahoma/southeast Kansas area. I worked here ~80 hours/week during summers to fund my undergraduate education at KU. Counselors were responsible for monitoring and teaching all camp activities, including horseback riding, archery, swimming, scuba diving, science classes, ropes course, wood shop, etc.
