My greatest success has been in my ability to use data and strategy to drive efficiencies, reduce costs, improve budgeting processes, and invest in our cities to improve the lives of constituents. In my current role as village manager for Niles, IL, I serve as chief executive of the village government for a municipality encompassing 30,000 residents. In addition to guiding and leading a team of 266 employees across 11 departments, I also engage in economic development initiatives focused on improving efficiency, minimizing city operation disruptions, and navigating between needs and wants critical to the development of lean, workable, and compliant budgets. Some notable highlights of my career achievements include: • Investing in economic development and secured public-private partnerships, including the city’s first partnership to build a $14M, 36,000 square-foot community center in Portage, MI. • Implementing a 5-year, multimillion-dollar community redevelopment project for Portage’s Lake Center District to improve the community’s quality of life, reinvigorate commerce, and grow the commercial tax base.• Securing a $100M infrastructure investment from the Simon Property Group by strengthening Orland Park’s economic footprint through negotiations with retailers and hospitality vendors.I am always eager to grow my professional network.
