I worked with students in grades 8-12 for 22 years. During that time, my main objective was to facilitate lessons that allowed students to understand the uniqueness of the English language. This included: grammar, vocabulary, narrative and persuasive writing, proof reading and book study. I was also the director of plays and musicals for 12 years. My duties included classroom observation, help develop lesson plans with new teachers and record keeping. At the middle school: I was a mentor teacher for three probationary teachers, created a podcast titled "The Doghouse" for activities happening at the middle school, edited and read the daily announcements and developed a curriculum based on the Common Core State Standards.
