Responsible for providing first line support to Miscellaneous Transmission Valve machining. This includes planning, ordering, developing and implementing systems for new processes, machine lines, tooling and material handling. Provides process plan, quality plan, control plan and job aids. Support NPI pilot builds and production launch. Participate in RIWs and 6 Sigma projects. Support Client's Production System, ISO and MQ12005 activities. Develops and controls machining process issues using PFMEA, APQP and PPAP processes. Takes ownership of the process and acts as the first point of contact for all production and quality issues.Accomplishments- Developed a process that dramatically reduced safety risk to operators while checking flatness of parts.- Implemented over 100 Continuous Improvement cards, which were submitted by both hourly and management employees.- Reduced coolant costs and prevented coolant over-run by installing floats on all machines. - Eliminated “Bell mouthing” and tool marks on sealing surfaces by changing order of tooling operations. - Utilized SPC and CPK data to improve quality, currently 30% better than goal (scrap per machine hour).- Dramatically reduced cycle times (up to 60%) on several high running parts by bringing in new tooling technology.

Machined various components for the M119A1/A2 Towed Howitzer, (IAW) in accordance with (SOP) Standard operating procedures (AR) Army regulations and prescribed quality requirements.

Received and shipped parts in support of SARET. (Small Arms Readiness Evaluation Team) Position shipped parts world-wide and is mission critical for the support of our armed forces.- Received incoming materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Prepares materials for shipment and maintains records of merchandise shipped. - Executed 100% on time delivery during contract.

Supervised members of the Bolted Cylinder and Trucks Suspension assembly test team. Responsible for training, enforcement of OSHA Safety Standards and quality assurance of assembled and tested components, in accordance with Caterpillar proprietary blue prints and drawings. Ensured deadlines for production were met based off of customer demand and union contract requirements. - Reduction of past due orders in Bolted Cylinders, was $2.1M to $100k in a 9 month period - Reduction of past due orders in Truck Struts, was $2.7M to $1.0M in 2.5 months.Caterpillar Production System (CPS) Coordinator (Management)- Responsible for the implementation of CPS strategies, including: visual management, cell boards, continuous improvement process, 5S and standard work implementation.

4M90 CNC Machinist-4 (hourly)- 6 Sigma/CPS Green Belt - Lead rapid improvement workshops (RIW) and assisted in special projects to increase production and improve quality. Served as the line safety rep. Lead Infinity (SPC) RIW, resulting in MQ12005 certification.- Operated Mazak 6800mu HMC in Gear Pumps. Other responsibilities included new product introduction (NPI), edits, prove-outs, adjustments and set-ups for new and existing gear pump components. Served as a trainer to new operators in Gear Pumps. Identified production problems and submitted continuous improvement and safety hazard control proposals to resolve issues. - Operated Mazak FH7800 cell, in Transmission Valves. Trained new Transmission Valve employees. Participated on the MQ12005 Certification Team and Infinity Pilot Team (SPC). Member of the PFMEA team. - Monitored and managed several other machining systems including Fritz Werner, Okuma MX-50HB and Cincinnati Milacron T-15. Provided training to new employees on these machining systems. Modified programs to remedy specific production problems.

Assembled and tested various stages of 5130 and 5230 hydraulic mining shovels. - Ground and fit stems using a Cincinnati Milacron Centerless Grinder. - Welded and tacked Rollover Protection Systems, ROPS, and served as line safety representative.- Operated standard and stand-up forklifts in support of shipping operations. - Operated numerous basic hand tools to include: Drills, Saws, Dremels, soldering irons, and amp meters/multi-meters.; Army National Guard- 31U Signal Support Systems Specialist SINGAR, 35E Radio Comsec Repairman, 29E Tactical Radio Repairman. - Obtained a secret security clearance. - Completed the Signal Corps.
